Epson T6 SCARA Robot
Robot and Controller in One Unit.
6 kg Payload, 600 mm Reach.
The Epson T6 is a tabletop SCARA robot with its controller built in. Less space. Less cabling. Single phase power.
Bigger Reach. Simpler Setup.
The T6 handles parts up to 6 kg across a 600 mm arm length. Its controller sits inside the robot, so the cell stays small and tidy. Epson describes the T series as built for cost efficient automation.
The T6 carries up to 6 kg, including the gripper, and reaches 600 mm from its base. That covers a wide work area on one table, with a 200 mm vertical stroke for picking and placing.
There is no separate controller box to mount and wire. You save cabinet space and run fewer cables, and the robot runs on AC 100 to 240 V single phase power.
The T6 uses a battery less encoder. Your maintenance team has no encoder batteries to track and replace, which means one less routine job on the list.
One Unit Instead of Two
A typical robot cell needs the robot, plus a separate controller box with its own space, mounting and cables. Every extra box and cable adds design work, wiring time and more parts to check during maintenance.
The T6 puts the controller inside the robot. I/O ports sit close to the tool, including 24 V power, so gripper and sensor wiring stays short. You get a smaller cell that is quicker to build.
Four simple steps from table to production.
- 1Mount the T6 on your table
- 2Connect single phase power, AC 100 to 240 V
- 3Wire your gripper to the I/O ports near the tool
- 4Program the job in Epson RC+ software
Where the T6 Fits on Your Line
The 6 kg payload and 600 mm reach suit jobs that are too heavy or too wide for a small SCARA. Here are four common uses.
The T6 moves parts from one point to another in a repeated pattern. The 6 kg payload leaves room for a heavier gripper or a multi pick tool. This suits mid size parts in electronics and general assembly.
The T6 fills or empties trays of parts. The 600 mm reach lets one robot cover several tray positions on the same table. This keeps material flowing without an operator standing at the station.
The T6 places parts into a test fixture, press or machine, then takes them out. I/O ports near the tool make it simple to connect the gripper and part sensors. The machine keeps running between cycles.
The T6 places products into boxes or builds kits from several part bins. The wide reach covers multiple bins and boxes from one position. The built in controller keeps the packing station compact.
One Model Number to Ask For
The T6 comes in one configuration, so choosing is easy. Here is what each part of the model number means.
What Makes This System Work
-
Built In Controller and Single Phase Power
The controller is inside the robot, so you do not need a separate controller box. It runs on AC 100 to 240 V single phase power, with a maximum rated capacity of 1.2 kVA.
-
Repeatability You Can Plan Around
Epson lists repeatability of ±0.04 mm at joints 1 and 2, ±0.02 mm at joint 3 and ±0.02 deg at joint 4. The robot returns to the same taught point cycle after cycle.
-
Wiring and Air Close to the Tool
Hand I/O gives 6 inputs and 4 outputs on a D sub 15 pin connector, plus User I/O with 18 inputs and 12 outputs. Air tubes are built in: one ø4 mm and two ø6 mm, rated to 0.59 MPa.
-
Speed and Press Force
Joints 1 and 2 reach a maximum speed of 4180 mm/sec, and joint 3 reaches 1000 mm/sec. Joint 3 delivers a press force of 83 N for light pressing and insertion work.
-
Battery Less Encoder
The encoder keeps its position data without a battery. This removes a routine replacement job and reduces the chance of lost position after a long shutdown.
Epson has more than 40 years of experience in precision automation. All Epson SCARA robots run on the same Epson RC+ software, so your team learns one platform.
FA Controls, the official Epson Robots distributor in Malaysia, helps you plan the cell, choose the tooling and get the T6 into production.
Built for Electronics and Assembly Manufacturers
The T6 suits production teams that need a SCARA robot with a wider reach and a heavier payload, without a complicated setup. It works well as a first robot cell or as an addition to an existing line.
You need steady output from a station that is hard to staff. The T6 handles repeated pick and place work in a compact cell that fits your existing floor space.
You want a robot that is quick to integrate. With the controller built in and I/O close to the tool, there is less wiring to design and fewer parts to place in the cell.
You look after many machines and want fewer routine jobs. The battery less encoder and single unit design mean fewer parts to check and replace.
