The LS8 handles the everyday work of a busy production line. It moves parts fast, assembles them accurately and carries heavier tools that smaller robots cannot.
The LS8 moves parts between points in about 0.3 seconds per standard cycle. It keeps your line moving at a steady pace, shift after shift.
With ±0.02 mm repeatability and up to 100 N of downward force, the LS8 places and presses parts firmly into position. This suits fitting, inserting and joining work on assembly lines.
An 8 kg payload gives you room for multi part grippers, screwdrivers and dispensing heads. You can do more work in one move instead of adding a second robot.
Faster and Stronger, Without Losing Accuracy
When a robot arm carries a heavier load and moves faster, it shakes more at the end of each move. Most robots must slow down or wait for that shaking to stop before the next move, which adds time to every cycle.
The LS8 uses Epson's GYROPLUS technology, which senses vibration right at the arm and cancels it out. As the successor to Epson's best selling LS series, it keeps the reliability buyers trust while delivering shorter cycle times and heavier payloads.
A tiny sensor lets the robot correct vibration as it happens.
- 1A precise quartz motion sensor measures how the arm is really moving.
- 2The controller compares this with where the arm should be.
- 3It cancels the vibration directly, instead of waiting for it to fade.
- 4The arm settles quickly and starts the next move sooner.
Built for Busy Assembly and Handling Lines
The LS8 fits a wide range of production jobs, from electronics to automotive parts. Here are four common ways manufacturers put it to work.
The cleanroom and ESD version places and fits electronic parts without risk of static damage or dust. It meets ISO Class 4 cleanroom conditions. This suits PCB handling, module assembly and component insertion.
The 8 kg payload carries a screwdriver or press tool with room to spare. The LS8 fastens screws and presses parts into housings with steady, repeatable force. Every part gets the same quality, every cycle.
The LS8 loads raw parts into a machine and takes finished parts out. The 700 mm arm reaches further into machines and work areas. Your operators can move from repetitive loading to higher value work.
The LS8 picks products from a conveyor and places them into trays, boxes or kits. A multi part gripper lets it move several items in one trip. This keeps up with fast packing lines without extra manpower.
Find Your LS8 Model Number
Pick your arm length and work environment below. We will show you the exact model number to ask for.
All LS8 models carry up to 8 kg and mount on a tabletop. The standard version has a 200 mm vertical stroke. The cleanroom and ESD version uses a 170 mm vertical stroke with protective bellows.
What Makes This System Work
-
Works with the RC800-A Controller
The LS8 runs on Epson's RC800-A controller and Epson RC+ software. The simple graphical screens make programming easy, even for first time users.
-
Battery Less Encoder
The robot remembers its position without a backup battery. You save on battery replacement and avoid unplanned stops.
-
Cleanroom and ESD Option
The cleanroom version meets ISO Class 4 and uses conductive materials against static. It suits electronics, semiconductor and medical device work.
-
Built In User Wiring and Air Tubes
Signal and network cables plus three air tubes run inside the robot. You connect grippers and tools with less loose cabling around the work area.
-
Three Arm Lengths
Choose a 500 mm, 600 mm or 700 mm arm to match your work area. The robot body weighs only 19 to 21 kg, so it fits easily on a tabletop frame.
-
TÜV SÜD Safety Certification
The LS8 and controller combination is evaluated by TÜV SÜD against international and North American safety standards. It also carries CE and KCs marks.
Epson has built robots for more than 40 years, with over 150,000 units sold worldwide. The LS series is one of its most popular ranges, and the LS8 builds on that track record.

Built for Electronics, Automotive and Consumer Product Manufacturers
The LS8 serves production teams that need a dependable robot for heavier parts and tools. It suits both new automation cells and upgrades of existing manual stations.
You need a robot with enough payload for your tooling and enough reach for your layout. The LS8 gives you 8 kg of payload, three arm lengths and built in wiring to keep your design clean.
You want higher output and stable quality without adding more operators. The LS8 runs fast cycles, repeats accurately and needs less maintenance thanks to its battery less encoder.
You need a robot that is simple to install, program and maintain. The LS8 mounts on a tabletop and uses Epson RC+ software with easy graphical screens.
