The LS4 is the successor to Epson's best selling LS series. It handles three core jobs on the production line, and does each one faster and with more payload than before.
The arm moves at up to 7200 mm/sec and completes a standard cycle in 0.336 sec. Your line moves more parts per hour without adding more stations.
Repeatability of ±0.01 mm keeps every placement on target. The vertical axis also pushes with up to 100N, so the LS4 can handle pressing, insertion and screw fastening work.
A cleanroom and ESD version meets ISO Class 4 cleanliness and controls static on the tool mounting area. It suits electronics, semiconductor and medical device parts that cannot tolerate dust or static.
Faster and Stronger, Without Losing Accuracy
When a robot arm speeds up, it vibrates more. Most robots deal with this by waiting for the arm to settle before the next move, or by using a heavier and more rigid arm. Both options cost you time or money.
The LS4 carries Epson's GYROPLUS technology, which senses vibration at the arm and cancels it out instead of making the arm heavier. Combined with the upgrades over the previous LS generation, you get a shorter cycle time, a higher payload and less maintenance in the same compact tabletop body.
Vibration control lets the arm move fast and still land on target.
- 1The arm moves at up to 7200 mm/sec toward the target point.
- 2GYROPLUS senses the actual vibration at the arm as it moves.
- 3The RC800-A controller corrects that vibration in real time.
- 4The arm settles quickly and places the part within ±0.01 mm.
From Electronics Assembly to Cleanroom Handling
The LS4 fits a wide range of small part jobs on the production floor. Here are four common ways manufacturers put it to work.
The LS4 picks connectors, sockets and small components and inserts them into PCBs or housings. Its ±0.01 mm repeatability keeps pins lined up with holes on every cycle. This reduces rework from bent pins and misaligned parts.
With a screwdriver or press tool mounted on the arm, the LS4 drives screws and presses parts into place. The vertical axis pushes with up to 100N of force. You get consistent fastening quality without operator fatigue.
The LS4 moves parts from feeders or input trays into output trays, kits or packaging. Its short cycle time keeps up with high volume lines. Built in air tubes make it easy to run vacuum or pneumatic grippers.
The cleanroom and ESD model handles sensitive parts in controlled environments. It meets ISO Class 4 cleanliness and keeps static low on the tool mounting area. This suits medical device, semiconductor and optical component production.
Find Your LS4 Model Number
The LS4 always comes with a 4kg payload and 400mm arm length. Pick your installation environment below, and we will show you the exact model number to ask for.
Note: The Standard model has a 150mm vertical stroke. The Cleanroom and ESD model uses a 120mm vertical stroke because of its protective bellows.
What Makes This System Work
-
Batteryless Encoder
The LS4 remembers its position without backup batteries. Your maintenance team no longer needs to schedule battery changes, and you avoid downtime from a flat battery.
-
RC800-A Controller
The LS4 works with Epson's RC800-A controller for advanced functions and flexible system integration. It runs on Epson RC+ software, the same platform used across Epson SCARA and 6 axis robots.
-
Built In Wiring and Air Tubes
A 15 pin signal connector, an RJ45 network port and three air tubes run inside the arm to the tool. This keeps cables tidy and makes grippers, sensors and cameras easier to connect.
-
Compact Tabletop Body
The robot weighs only 14 kg and mounts on a tabletop. It runs on single phase 200 to 240V power, so it fits into existing workstations without major electrical work.
-
Recognised Safety Standards
The LS4 meets CE, KCs and NRTL safety standards. This makes safety documentation easier for factories that serve export customers.
Epson has more than 40 years of experience in precision automation and has sold over 150,000 robots worldwide. The LS4 builds on its best selling LS series.
FA Controls is the official authorised Epson robot distributor in Malaysia. We help you choose the right model, design the gripper and integrate the complete cell.
Built for Electronics and Precision Manufacturers
The LS4 suits production teams that handle small parts in high volume. It is a strong fit for electronics, E&E, medical device and consumer product factories that need speed and accuracy together.
You need more output from the same floor space and fewer operators on repetitive tasks. The LS4 raises units per hour with a compact footprint.
You need consistent placement, insertion and fastening quality across every shift. The LS4 delivers ±0.01 mm repeatability and stable cycle times.
You want a robot that is easy to integrate and simple to maintain. Built in wiring, Epson RC+ software and a batteryless encoder keep your workload light.
