Epson LA10 SCARA Robot
Simple, Straightforward Parts Transfer
With a 10 kg Payload and Up to 800 mm Reach
The Epson LA10 is a 10 kg SCARA robot for standalone pick and place cells. Choose a 600, 700 or 800 mm arm. Standard or Cleanroom versions. Programmed with Epson RC+ software.
Essential Functions. Done Well.
Epson describes the LA10 as essential functionality and a smart choice for parts transfer. It moves parts up to 10 kg between fixed points, covers a wide work area, and runs the same software as Epson's higher end robots.
The LA10 moves parts up to 10 kg from point to point. With the 600 mm arm, Epson lists a standard cycle time of 0.353 seconds at a 2 kg payload setting. On the 800 mm arm, joints 1 and 2 reach up to 10500 mm per second.
Choose a 600, 700 or 800 mm arm to match your work area, and a short or long Joint 3 stroke to match your part height. Each comes in a Standard version or a Cleanroom version that meets ISO Class 4.
The LA10 runs on Epson RC+, the same software Epson uses across its SCARA and 6 axis robots. Its simple graphical screens are easy to learn, even for first time users.
Made Specially for Simple, Straightforward Applications
Many robot cells only move parts between fixed points. They do not need to track a conveyor, sense force, or share signals with many other machines.
Epson made the LA10 specially for simple and straightforward applications that work on their own, with little interfacing to other equipment. Epson positions the LA series as a cost effective choice for this kind of work, with its RC800L controller covering what a standalone cell needs.
A standalone cell that runs on its own once the points are taught.
- 1Choose the arm length, Joint 3 stroke and environment that fit your work area.
- 2Mount the robot on a table and fit your gripper, with tool cables run outside the arm.
- 3Teach the pick and place points in Epson RC+.
- 4Run the cell to move parts between fixed points.
Standalone Jobs With Fixed Pick and Place Points
These applications suit the LA10 because each one runs as a standalone station with little interfacing to other equipment. Every job uses a gripper or suction tool, with its cables run outside the arm.
The robot picks parts from a tray and places them into a fixture at fixed positions. The 10 kg payload leaves room for a heavier gripper or larger parts. The Cleanroom version suits electronics parts that must stay free of particles.
The robot builds or breaks down stacks of parts, trays or covers at fixed points. Choose the 300 mm Joint 3 stroke on the Standard version for taller stacks. The job repeats the same motion all shift.
The robot places parts into fixed positions inside boxes or cartons at a standalone packing station. The 800 mm arm covers a wide packing area. This suits consumer products and automotive parts.
The robot pushes pins, caps or parts into place using the 200 N Joint 3 press force. Repeatability of plus or minus 0.01 mm on Joint 3 helps each insertion land at the same depth.
Find Your LA10 Model Number
Pick what you need below, and we will show you the exact model number to ask for. Every LA10 carries a 10 kg payload and mounts on a tabletop.
The short stroke is 200 mm on the Standard version and 170 mm with bellows on the Cleanroom version. The long stroke is 300 mm on the Standard version and 270 mm with bellows on the Cleanroom version.
What Makes This System Work
-
Repeatability on Every Axis
Repeatability on joints 1 and 2 is plus or minus 0.02 mm with the 600 and 700 mm arms, and plus or minus 0.025 mm with the 800 mm arm. Joint 3 is plus or minus 0.01 mm, and Joint 4 is plus or minus 0.01 degree.
-
Speed for Each Arm Length
Standard cycle time is 0.353 sec (600 mm arm), 0.380 sec (700 mm) and 0.420 sec (800 mm). Epson measures it on a round trip arch motion of 300 mm horizontal and 25 mm vertical at a 2 kg payload setting. Joints 1 and 2 reach 9100, 9800 and 10500 mm per second for the same three arms.
-
Joint 3 Press Force and Stroke
Joint 3 delivers a press force of 200 N and moves at up to 1100 mm per second. Choose a 200 mm or 300 mm stroke on the Standard version, or 170 mm or 270 mm with bellows on the Cleanroom version. Joint 4 turns at up to 2700 degrees per second.
-
RC800L Controller
The LA10 works with Epson's RC800L controller, which controls up to 4 axes. You program it with Epson RC+ software, the same platform used across Epson's SCARA and 6 axis range.
-
Cables and Power
Standard cables come in 3, 5, 10, 15 or 20 m, and flexible cables in 5, 10, 15 or 20 m. The robot runs on AC200 to 240 V single phase power, with a maximum rated capacity of 1.8 kVA. It carries CE and KCs marks.

Built for Electronics and Assembly Manufacturers
The LA10 suits production teams that want to automate a simple, standalone pick and place job with heavier parts. It fits factories in electronics, automotive parts, medical devices and consumer products.
You have operators lifting and moving the same parts all shift. The LA10 takes over that repetitive work at a steady pace, so your team can move to tasks that need judgment.
You need a robot that hits the same point every cycle without a complex setup. The LA10 gives you plus or minus 0.02 mm repeatability on the 600 and 700 mm arms and a choice of three reaches to fit your layout.
You want to build a standalone cell quickly with a gripper that may be heavy. The 10 kg payload and 200 N press force give you room, and Epson RC+ keeps programming the same as Epson's other robots.
