Small Robot. Three Precision Jobs.

The GX1 is made for work where parts are small and space is tight. It moves parts fast, places them accurately, and pushes them firmly into position.

High Speed Small Parts Transfer

The GX1 moves small parts from one point to another in about 0.29 seconds per standard cycle. This keeps your line moving fast without adding more operators.

Precision Component Assembly

With ±0.005 mm repeatability, the GX1 places tiny components in the same spot every time. This suits assembly work where a small miss means a rejected part.

Press Insertion Work

The rigid arm pushes down with up to 50 N of force. It can press pins, connectors and small parts firmly into place, a job many small robots cannot handle.

Smallest Epson Robot. Big Precision.

Many small parts lines use a robot that is bigger than the job needs. It takes up bench space, needs regular battery changes, and adds cables and air hoses around the work area.

The GX1 weighs only 8 kg and fits on a tabletop. It uses a battery less encoder, and runs wiring and air tubes inside the arm, so your cell stays compact and needs less maintenance.

How the GX1 Fits Your Line

Four simple steps from selection to production.

  • 1
Choose your arm length: 175 mm or 225 mm, based on your work area.
  • 2
Choose 4 axis or 3 axis, and a standard or cleanroom and ESD model.
  • 3
Mount the robot on a tabletop and connect it to the Epson RC800-A controller.
  • 4
Program the motion with Epson RC+ software, using simple graphical screens.

Where the GX1 Works Best

The GX1 is a strong fit for any line that handles small, light parts with tight accuracy. These are four common jobs it takes on.

01
Electronic Component Insertion

The GX1 picks connectors and pins and presses them into boards or housings. The 50 N pushing force seats each part fully, while the high repeatability keeps it aligned. This reduces bent pins and loose fits compared to manual insertion.

02
Small Parts Assembly

The GX1 assembles small items such as camera modules and precision mechanisms. It places each part at the same position cycle after cycle. Its compact size lets you fit more stations on one assembly line.

03
Medical Device Assembly

The GX1 handles small plastic and metal parts used in medical devices. Consistent placement helps you keep quality stable batch after batch. The cleanroom model supports work in controlled environments.

Cleanroom and ESD Handling

The cleanroom and ESD model is built for semiconductor and sensitive electronics work. It complies with ISO Class 3 cleanroom standards, and its main parts are made safe for static sensitive components. This protects your products from both dust and static damage.

What Makes This System Work

  • Battery Less Encoder

The GX1 keeps its position data without a backup battery. You skip regular battery replacement, which means less planned downtime and less maintenance work.

  • Cleanroom and ESD Model Option

Choose the cleanroom and ESD model for semiconductor or sensitive electronics work. It complies with ISO Class 3 cleanroom standards and protects static sensitive parts.

  • 4 Axis or 3 Axis Choice

Pick 4 axis when your tool needs to rotate the part. Pick 3 axis when it does not, and gain a higher payload of up to 1.5 kg.

  • Built In Wiring and Air Tubes

Signal wiring (15 pin and 9 pin connectors) and three air tubes run inside the robot for your gripper. This keeps loose cables away from the work area and reduces snagging.

  • Epson RC800-A Controller and RC+ Software

The GX1 works with the Epson RC800-A controller and is programmed with Epson RC+ software. The graphical screens are easy to learn, and the same software runs across the Epson SCARA and 6 axis range.

  • TÜV SÜD Evaluated Safety

The robot and controller combination is evaluated by TÜV SÜD against international and North American safety standards. The GX1 also carries CE, KCs and NRTL marks.

From Epson, the world's number one SCARA robot manufacturer

Epson has more than 40 years of experience in precision automation, with over 150,000 robots sold worldwide. The GX1 is the smallest robot in its range.

FA Controls Sdn Bhd is the official authorised distributor of Epson Robots in Malaysia. Our team helps you choose the right model, design the cell and support your line after installation.

Good to know before you buy. Cycle time and repeatability figures are measured under Epson's own test conditions. Your actual results depend on payload, gripper and motion path, so we recommend a trial with your real parts.
